decision to cancel all but one of its domestic routes as well as some international services.
The airline announced on Thursday that it has taken the decision together with the Business Rescue Practitioners in an effort to make SAA profitable and sustainable.Numsa together with Sacca have called for the immediate resignation of the entire South African Airways Board.Numsa spokesperson Phakamile Hlubi Majola says the unions were not consulted about the decision.
“We are quite shocked and dismayed by the decision to cancel so many routes. This is going to have a devastating impact on the workforce. What they’ve done today , we can’t express how shocked we are. What worsened the situation is that as we were engaging on this issue, they went and issued a statement to the media to show that there was no consultation with labour. To date we don’t have a business rescue plan.

Numsa_Media why? When SAA last year needed help and participation, you lot went on strike, you are part of the reason this spiralled out of control. What did you expect will happen with clueless executives and managers? Investigate managers credibility. That's supporting people!
Really at this point if you have anything invested in S.A just sell it all and invest abroad
Soon we will be called Republic of Shocked Africa (RSA)
This is a failing SOE fruitless bail out and even worse business rescue SAA there is no hope
Perhaps NUMSA should go on strike again and collapse SAA once and for all before the ANC start raiding the UIF surplus money.
Trade union is shocked. Big deal stop striking and stealing it will work.arrogant
Shock? 😂😂 What did they think was going to happen when they embarked on a strike that cost the company millions?
The same trade union that launched a strike last year despite knowing SAA was in dire straits?
