Newcomer to traditional Maskandi music, Ntencane, has been named the winner of UKhozi FM’s 2019 song of the year. The winner has been announced by the station management.

The top 10 songs for 2019 are based on listeners’ votes. The 2019 Song of the Year could not be released on the 31 December last year due to a court interdict against the station.UKhozi FM programmes Manager Zandile Tembe says they got more than a million vote.

“Thanks to our winner for the many votes we’ve got. We’ve got more than a million votes. It shows the excitement our listeners have to the campaign itself. So, we would like to congratulate Ntencane for having won. He is the newcomer to maskandi music. He got almost half a million votes. But it was also interesting to see Zinhle. She did amazingly very well; so, did Master KG. So. we would to congratulate them,” says Tembe.
