|In light of the national cabinet meeting which included New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, economist Tim Harcourt says “it makes a lot of sense” for Australia to remain economically close yet politically independent from New Zealand. History was made today when New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern joined the national cabinet to discuss the possibility of a Trans-Tasman travel bubble.

Mr Harcourt suggested if Virgin Australia were to completely collapse, opening a Trans-Tasman aviation market could provide a creditable rival for Qantas. “If the worst came to the worst you could see Air New Zealand and Quantas going head-to-head both in New Zealand and in Australia,” he told Sky News host Peter Gleeson. “Economically we’re probably the two most integrated economies in the world,” he said.

jacindaardern In other words is mind your own business jacindaardern

jacindaardern I think the former PM of NZ, Richard Seddon, had a good idea a while back on the relationship between Australia and NZ. He excluded New Zealand from participating in the establishment of Australia in 1901.
