Uber's self-driving car business may be at risk of shutting down as consolidation in the space ramps up, analyst predicts

in 2018. Like Apple, Uber was not included in Guidehouse's 2020 ranking of companies developing self-driving technology.

"I've never thought that it made any sense for Uber and Lyft to develop their own automated driving systems," he said.
