Queensland's border closures could stop more than four million Australians visiting the Sunshine State and could cost the state's tourism industry as much as $5 billion. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk suggested the state's borders could remain closed until September to keep coronavirus infection rates low. Tourism operators in the state have argued rates are already low and have remained so for some time.
Last year, Queenslanders spent $10 billion holidaying in their own state which is often matched by interstate visitors from New South Wales and Victoria who make up the largest portion of the domestic market. Senator Pauline Hanson launched a High Court challenge over the legality of enforcing an extended border closure for Queensland with former politician Clive Palmer doing the same in Western Australia.
Thanks Premier, took the easy route but stuff the business people effected.... such a lite weight premier.....
If Palaszczuk's gov't opens the border...then Morrison's gov't benefits Pure petty politics

Keep Queenslanders in Queensland. They claim to be different from the rest of Australia. (Yep, most right-wing inbred rednecks do.)
Queensland’s premiere doesn’t care she knows she won’t get elected again so she’s determined to make everyone as poor as church mice before she goes, it’s not about saving lives and we’ve already flattened the curve.
Hopefully that will teach QLD not to vote for her, or labor again.
The chook will just lobby the federal government for money to promote tourism.
