Mike Edwards' resignation comes after BuzzFeed News reported on concerns among staff about diversity problems at the popular children's clothing company.

Mike Edwards decided to step down on Thursday"to focus on his family and personal interests," according to an internal email that was provided to BuzzFeed News. He had served as CEO since April 2019.

In July, BuzzFeed News published a story featuring interviews with three current and six former staffers who said Edwards had a reputation for rebuking staff who disagreed with him, specifically about issues of diversity in the company's marketing materials and staffing. They described situations where they received angry messages from Edwards, or were forced by him to apologize, after criticizing diversity efforts at the company.

Two former employees described an incident that occurred prior to Edwards joining the company in which photos taken of a Black family modeling a best-selling set of pajamas for the 2018 holiday catalog were reshot with a white family due to concerns from management that the Black family"wasn’t 'Hanna' enough."the company had shared on May 31 amid riots in the wake of the death of George Floyd.

Airline CEO: Industry 'needs the support' of Fed Gov.The CEO of Frontier Airlines, Barry Biffle, joins Ayman Mohyeldin after President Trump signaled he was willing to provide COVID relief funds to the airline industry. Biffle, whose company has alerted 1,500 of its staff they may be furloughed, welcomes the financial support, and stresses to potential customers that it's now 'time to fly' in order to save the industry. Translation: my salary is dependent on stock prices and bonuses; I couldn’t give a shit about employees. So please fly, I need that third house. 🙄 My doctor begged me not to fly. She said the risk was so high and I'd do nothing but either get sick or get others sick. And I fully trust her advice. I'm not flying anywhere until the virus is under control or there's a vaccine. To fly or die, that is the question.
