In fact, the older the age group, the slightly less optimistic investors became. Generation X, those aged 38 to 50-years-old, predicted they could generate nearly 11% annually from their investments, while baby boomers expected nearly a 10% gain on their money each year. The silent generation believed their funds could grow by close to 10% annually.
Rupert Rucker, head of income solutions at Schroders, said that much of millennials' investment experience has been "shaped from the period of very strong market performance since the global financial crisis, which might have distorted long-term return expectations." Rucker added that the consistency of the findings over the last few years could also be illustrating that younger investors are generally more optimistic than older cohorts "irrespective of market conditions."
MakeIt High expectations. Low Returns.
MakeIt I'm afraid the kiddies are due a Gravity Lesson.
MakeIt That'll happen when average tuition cost goes up at a higher rate than average income. Need more than 7% return just to offset the difference to even have a chance at retiring normally. Not mad, that's just reality now.
MakeIt Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Socialist stagnation. Ha ha.
MakeIt Thanks to Trump
MakeIt 12 years of returns are already baked in....great risk with no reward.
MakeIt News flash: no one does anything right
MakeIt Great read.
MakeIt I'd like to meet some of these fellow millennials and see if they're interested in some bridges, swamps, and snake oils I have for sale.
MakeIt See it everyday in the small cap market. If stocks aren’t rising instantly, chat rooms light up and panic sells happen lol
MakeIt People aged 21-35 should be investing in assets to see (at least) 12% annual avg yields, people aged 50+ shouldn’t expect more than 8% annual avg returns because they should be changing their investment strategy. The older folks polled were optimistic to expect 10% returns
MakeIt Recently I released a comedy short film ‘Millennials’ The film deals with the people of the MILLENNIAL Generation and what we expect from life and what is expected from us.. If you like it I would really appreciate a like and a RT on this post ❤️
MakeIt Next 5 years? Wtf crack are you smoking. We havent even gotten into the housing crisis. Moratge deferrals are halfway done. Come March shit will be hitting the fan.
MakeIt Millennials have never experienced a stock market bubble before. Welcome to Y20K, Y2K on steroids.
MakeIt They really want to believe in the system. 😂
MakeIt 12% investment return? Yikes, not even close. More like 4%.
MakeIt ......
MakeIt That is one of the reason sugar daddy business is booming among most of millennials as they looking for shortcuts..!!
MakeIt Good luck with that.
MakeIt Millennials voting Kamala = ?
MakeIt 'It categorized millennials as those aged 18 to 37-years-old.' ..... Uhhhh what?
MakeIt If they invest early like 20's sure! It's called power of compound interest!
MakeIt have some more ice cream kids..KAG2020
MakeIt
MakeIt Returns without the risk? Lol
MakeIt It should not only be the highest investment returns, it must be the fastest investment returns.
MakeIt They just don't know yet that their expected return will have a negative sign in front of it when it becomes a realized return.
MakeIt sell immediately
MakeIt I always love being referred to with the term 'OK Boomer' but been riding the horse for a longtime and my goal just is to beat the market averages
MakeIt Then give them... 😁😁😁
MakeIt But how can that be when they want solcialism? 🤔
MakeIt Who has time to wait for 10% boomer returns. Yolo 8/14 Tesla 2000c
MakeIt They should thank Our President.
MakeIt Imagine that lol
MakeIt Y’all ain’t for my generation. How you think the first generation of early age social media adaption and were given instant gratification through likes/views, is gonna do when their stonks sink 10% in a correction
MakeIt Nothing wrong with optimism
MakeIt $ETH
MakeIt DO NOT come for the hard-working, belitted, marginalized, exploited, and somehow not totally batshit generation that continues to eschew the Ponzi scheme Boomers want us to buy into. We'll rip you to pieces because we've been eating scraps for decades.
MakeIt We were sold something only to have to compete with our parents for it and then have it taken away. We have lived through several major economic downturns, a prolonged and unjust war, the downfall of American democracy and the generational war the media spurs between young people
MakeIt Sample size? Type of person surveyed (ie white millennials with institutional wealth?) Most millennials don't have enough capital to invest. Also, we have paid for everyone else OUR ENTIRE LIVES and have THOUSANDS of dollars of debt to pay off in record unemployment numbers
MakeIt Of course they do, they a trophy for showing up, why shouldn’t they be able to beat the market by buying fractional shares
MakeIt I mean we were smart enough to start accumulating Bitcoin while boomers we’re laughing at it 🤷🏻♂️
MakeIt Expect and get are two different things...
MakeIt Wow 😳 unrealistic expectations here. Data drives returns. From 1871-2020, the annualized S&P 500 returns BEFORE inflation were 9%. And that’s assuming we’re all investing in index funds like I am 📈💵🤔
MakeIt Free enterprise exchange or free commodity order
MakeIt Wow, The year 2000. The 2nd coming of the lord. Do you guys feel blessed? Do stop the leftist from taking the bible of childrens' hands. And help the Epstein victims-I don't trust the cops, do you?
MakeIt Hope they are investing in Tesla.
MakeIt That's good intell. And damn fine writing, Vicky. I'm going to keep my eye on your work, McKeever.
MakeIt The “unrealistic generation” couldn’t expect any less!
MakeIt Millenials expect the highest of everything with the least effort
MakeIt They also think they are all gonna be billionaires
MakeIt Millenials also thot it was a good idea to share everything, covid said nope!
MakeIt Yes! stoolpresidente is leading the charge
MakeIt They’re gonna keep buying the dip into black boxes
MakeIt Of course they do! They aren't fools or bit players after all!
MakeIt Yeah because Stocks only go up! DDTG
