Batu Gajah OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Adnan Basri said the 20-year-old woman, who is nine months' pregnant, and her lorry attendant husband, 29, were arrested at a house in Desa Changkat on Monday at 12.15am.
ACP Adnan said both were being investigated for stealing a pouch bag that belonged to a shop assistant, which contained money and a mobile phone, on Saturday around 4pm."Both have confessed to committing the offence," he said in a statement. "The man will be remanded until Wednesday , while the wife will be given police bail later in the day," he added.
ACP Adnan said a check with the CCTV recordings showed that the woman and her husband had gone into the mini market at 3.45pm."She then went to the back of the market, hid the item in her maternal clothes before walking out of the premises with her husband," he said."The woman has one for theft, while the husband has records for house trespass, theft and rioting with weapons," he added.
