CTV News Toronto searched and called property managements and found buildings offering up to two free months rent. One included $1,500 cash on a 20-month lease.
Danison said this is the case especially in the downtown with smaller units, as people purchase homes in outlying areas of the city. Vik Singh is studying how COVID-19 is impacting the Toronto-area economy. He said in certain areas residential rent has fallen by $200 a month. "It's really an opportunity for people to move to another place," Toronto Real Estate Board president Lisa Patel said.
I've seen dozens of month free rent ads for year leases pretty much anywhere. What's an 8% off if you're getting a deposit exceeding that first months anyway and reducing any turnover waste? They're overpriced anyway, that's only 1-2 hundred a month.
And who says there isn’t affordable housing?
the laws of supply and demand can be harsh when they work against you.
So, two months free rent. Crazy.
Toronto is finished LOL Good. It will be used as an example in text books of what not to do.
