'There's no doubt in my mind that Jared's future is in building a media empire of some kind,' one of the Republicans familiar with the talks said.

This time around, the buzz about a new career path for Kushner meshes with media reports about the power couple'sMeet the 67 most important Democrats trying to give Joe Biden a final push toward making Donald Trump a one-term president

One media-industry source with GOP ties said Kushner could solve any funding problems by striking an alliance with Fox News, which would also serve the country's most popular conservative network by ensuring the new venture didn't become a direct competitor. A former White House official also questioned whether Kushner would be able to execute a media deal given the hurdles of building an outlet on par with something like CNN, Fox News, or MSNBC. But Trump's closest allies see an opening on the right for a Trump-branded news outlet to eat into audiences held by outlets including Fox News and One America News Network.

Kushner has not said what form the outlet would take or what role Trump would play, the Republicans familiar with his talks said.

So he will have free time?

The only media empire he will oversee is the prison talent show.
