The state Commissioner for Finance, Mr Fidelis Tileje, stated this on Wednesday in Asaba while giving a breakdown of the 2021 budget.
He said, “The state cannot borrow more than 40 per cent of its debt profile. The current debt profile of the state stands at N207bn, while it debt’s ratio is 8.03 per cent.” Giving further breakdown, the Commissioner of Economic Planning, Mr Barry Gbe, said the 2021 appropriation budget passed by the House of Assembly was increased by N5.5bn, adding that this was necessitated by the need to increase the budgetary provision for ongoing projects and other key capital budget needs not adequately provided for as presented to the Assembly.All rights reserved.
