Infantry Brigade said “the 402Brigade field unit commanders and operational control unit commanders are very much happy for their support in our cause for peace and development and put an end to this forced taxation by the CPP-NPA,” 402Brigade Civil Military Operations officer Maj. Francisco P. Garello, Jr. told the Manila Bulletin on Wednesday.
A total of 16 business owners belonging to the Butuan City Chamber of Commerce and Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce Association Incorporated who participated in the forum expressed their support to finally put an end to the CPP-NPA Terrorist extortion activities in the city. The forum aimed to educate the participants on the NPA extortion scheme, embolden the business owners to stop yielding to the CNT’s extortion demands, and institute efforts to synergize collaboration in ending the CNT’s extortion activities, Garello said.
“This is about P9,380,000 in a year which unfortunately contributed to the growth and sustainment of the strength of the CPP-NPA terrorists operating in the area,” he said.
