Ashley Carlson was like many at the height of the coronavirus pandemic. She lost her job, as a dental practice manager, then began her own business. When the upper northern beaches went into lockdown again in December, "it crushed us".
"We're so thankful the northern beaches has opened back up. It was heartbreaking to see Avalon so dead over Christmas."The Carlsons are one of many small business owners who have suffered through the Christmas lockdown, necessitated by the Avalon outbreak, which grew to 150 people on Sunday. For Mona Vale's Rhonda and Kevin Smith, the end of the lockdown means they'll be able to spend some time with their children and grandchildren.
ameliamcguiree Seriously, get out of your bubble. How about the people who don't live on the Northern Beaches and don't have the resources or contacts to be able to simply start their own business? What a joke
