Abrams wrote Wednesday that she understands this reflex, but she does not believe boycotts—which would require significant sacrifice—are necessary yet.
She argued a slowdown in sporting events, films and other economic activity in Georgia could harm the same workers who will bear the brunt of the state’s voting law. Instead, Abrams encouraged Georgia-based employers to take clear stances against the restrictions, and to endorse and financially support efforts to make voting easier.“[Leaving] us behind won’t save us,” Abrams wrote. “So I ask you to bring your business to Georgia and, if you’re already here, stay and fight. Stay and vote.”Several Georgia-based companies have spoken out against the voting restrictions.
Exactly! Boycotting industries that largely operate in blue districts is a bad idea. It’s crazy how consistently right Stacey is and people still challenge her.
