t should come as no surprise that nearly every business leader wants their organization to better leverage data. In fact, Tableau recently sponsored research with IDC showing that 83% of CEOs want their organization to be more data-driven. But what surprised us was the significant gap between the desire to use data and how well data was actually used in their organizations. For every 10 organizations where actions are largely driven by data, 23 are struggling to be data-driven.

It can be difficult to take an honest look at your organization’s use of data so many often don’t. It’s like opening the doors in what appears to be an organized kitchen, exposing clutter and disarray. It can reveal where you’re falling short, what hurdles prevent success, and where there are critical gaps in data skills, knowledge, and use.
