The owner of a B&B in one of Ireland's most popular tourist destinations is concerned about the impact scam calls are having on her business.
The increasingly sophisticated scam calls are seemingly rampant at the moment, with fraudsters pretending to be from Government or state agencies attempting to dupe people into handing over passwords or money. "People just aren't answering their mobile phones anymore and it's starting to become a real problem," she told the Irish Mirror.
She believes that when she calls guests on her house phone, the chances of someone picking up are much higher than if she called from a mobile number. She feels the extent to which scam calls are so prevalent at the moment is ultimately having a negative impact on her business.
Your fone doesn't recognize a number, u dong answer it. That's how it is these days.
