The Reserve Bank of New Zealand is set to announce its interest rate decision at 10:00 a.m. HK/SIN on Wednesday.

SINGAPORE — Shares in Asia-Pacific looked set for a mixed Wednesday start as investors look ahead to the Reserve Bank of New Zealand's interest rate decision.

Futures pointed to a little changed open for Japanese stocks. The Nikkei futures contract in Chicago was at 27,430 while its counterpart in Osaka was at 27,420. That compared against theJapan's government on Tuesday decided to extend the Covid-19 state of emergency in Tokyo and other areas to Sept. 12,
