“We will continue to monitor operations at the market and at the food complex," said the Penang Island City Council .
It added in a statement that spot-checks will be conducted to ensure its traders, workers as well as the public adhere to the standard operating procedures . “We wish to remind the public that if they are of a ‘high-risk’ status on MySejahtera, we will not allow them to enter the market," said the MBPP.
The market was ordered closed on Sept 9 when 18 Covid-19 cases were detected, affecting 159 stalls, and 22 stalls in the food complex.
