A national shortage of meat processing workers is being exacerbated by “nutty” visa checks that force applicants to pass English language tests on cheese rolling, emus and the French painter Matisse, ministers have been warned.
The test should be about British Life skills or job specific language and not this:
The test is nuts. Were you a butcher looking to get a Skilled Worker Visa and find that your English Language Test was about Emus you would either think you were not hearing it correctly or that we're all crackers here!
