One of the mistakes he has avoided is trying to get fellow artists to uproot their lives and work in an office in Houston. Instead, everyone is scattered all over the country working at their own pace, a nice concession to both pandemic conditions and the avoidance of some of the poor employer practices that have plagued the industry.
“I think people might be surprised by how immersive the game is, even with its minimalistic art style,” says game designer and producer Nick Kinstler. “The subtle movement of plant life, the constant pitter-patter of rain, the fading backdrop of stone towers and moss-covered trees — they all serve to create a really unique atmosphere and aesthetic.
