Friedman and Calo both described this week's process as a sharp turnaround from the respectful relationship that Axon executives have had with the board in recent years on controversial topics such as facial recognition — which Axon decided against using in its body cameras — and automated license plate readers.
Axon's founder and CEO, Rick Smith, said he first shared his idea for using technology to stop mass shootings in a graphic novel he wrote called “The End of Killing.”
Or we could just do a better job vetting people who wish to purchase guns…and not make certain styles of gun available to the general population…🤷♀️
It’s scary seeing all these indoctrinated people keep insisting that the best way to prevent mass-shootings is to create a police state? How is that less “tyrannical’ than doing what every other democracy that’s eliminated mass-shootings has done?
Who pays for the device, batteries, cartridges, physical storage, video storage, etc. Most agencies in Texas don’t issue extra armor and weapons to combat this. It also doesn’t prevent anything! It is reactive and would be used as a non lethal.
