Why remote work is growing even more critical for white-collar roles

Dave Fisch has a unique perspective on how remote work is affecting hiring in the professional world.

Earlier in the year, just 30% of Ladders job seekers were looking for remote-only work — growth that signals somewhat of a disconnect as many Fisch stressed the coming months will provide more clarity on the long-term remote job market. But, even as companies offer higher salaries and increased retention bonuses, what workers want most is flexibility.

Teamable, an end-to-end recruiting firm, found there are eight times more job campaigns that mention the job being remote than there were in 2019, but stressed companies need to highlight remote benefits proactively to encourage job-seekers to apply. The tight job market comes even as The Federal Reserve’s interest rate hikes to tame high inflation are said while the economy has slowed from its 2021 pandemic highs and higher interest rates have weakened the housing market and slowed business investment, the labor market has continued to stay strong.
