Qualcomm and satellite company Iridium said they are introducing technology that would allow smartphone users to send and receive messages via satellite when regular cellular connectivity isn’t available

The iPhone 14’s satellite connection allows you to send messages to emergency services if you’re ever in trouble when there’s no cellular service. WSJ’s Joanna Stern tests the feature and guides you through how to use it.
