The Australian company DroneShield is riding a global wave of demand for anti-drone guns, caused partly by the high-profile use of drones in the war in Ukraine.

president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, police detected four unidentified drones converging on the new head of state.

The story of DroneShield is about the thousands of different and often unexpected uses that have been found for drones within a short space of time. "There were anecdotal reports of drones being flown over your neighbour's pool — we thought privacy issues were going to be the main driver."Initially, Dr Hearing, a scientist, partnered with Dr Franklin, a physicist, to crowdfund "about $US50,000" to develop a system for acoustically detecting drones.

Shortly before Christmas, a string of unconfirmed drone sightings over two days closed the runways of Gatwick airport near London, grounding hundreds of flights.Oleg Vornik, who joined the company in 2015 as its third employee and is now CEO, said he had seen the potential of DroneShield from the start.

"Prisons were writing to us, saying 'We are seeing a ton of contraband deliveries. Please help us,'" Mr Vornick said. Russia has used waves of explosive drones to knock out power in Ukraine, damage buildings and facilities, and terrorise people.Last month, DroneShield announced an $11 million purchase order by an unnamed government agency.Three weeks later, it announced a second $11 million order, also by an unnamed government agency.

Awesome article! Jamming is hear to stay. With the inevitable advent of autonomous swarms, jamming will be needed to disrupt the swarm (stop drones co-ordinating). That, and DroneShield have awesome sensors, C2, AI and are partnering with EpirusInc (energy weapons)...

Drones are being flown over peoples pools. By local councils looking for unfenced pools. Happened this month to a friend.

Aus domestic market represents ’15 to 20 per cent’ of ‘overall gas sales’Energy Users Australia Chief Executive Officer Andrew Richards said the Australian domestic market represents “15 to 20 per cent” of “overall gas sales” within the industry. “The Australian domestic market represents somewhere between 15 to 20 per cent of their overall gas sales,” he told Sky News Australia. “A majority of Australian gas is sold overseas to contracted partners and to spot markets. “The Australian market is a relatively small market in that context, so there will continue to be a substantial investment,” Mr Richards said.
