It’s something I want to champion.” “People are used to being stereotyped here, the Benefit Street type shows, I wanted to get away from all that. The experience makes her sympathetic to the DVSA driving examiners who have joined the nationwide wave of public sector strikes over pay.

There have been 14 productions filming across County Durham recently, ranging from BBC One documentary series. The BBC is investing at least £25m in programming in the North East over a five-year period.
