With this aim, government has launched a National Energy Action Plan to improve the performance of its existing power stations and to add new generation capacity to the grid as quickly as possible.
A critical area of reform is in logistics, where the Minerals Council of South Africa and Transnet have now partnered to stabilise and restore the operational performance of rail lines and ports.
