that James LaForte, 46, has been charged with an attack on an attorney, Gaetan Alfano, as Alfano left his offices on Feb. 28. Alfano was taken to a hospital, where he required seven staples to his skull and an MRI scan due to the injuries, according to court documents.
Authorities claim that LaForte snuck up on Alfano and struck him in the back of the head with a metal object in broad daylight. FBI agents claim that surveillance videos from nearby businesses show LaForte, dressed in a dark hoodie, black knit cap, surgical mask and gloves, committing the attack and then fleeing the scene on foot. He then dumped the jacket in the trash and got into a taxi, according to the charging documents.
