April 27, 2023 8:16 AMFarouk Ahmed, chief executive officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority , has urged petroleum products dealers to operate within the regulatory space.Represented by Ogbugo Ukoha, NMDPRA’s executive director of distribution systems, storage, and retailing infrastructure, Ahmed said the engagement was necessary for the growth of the sector.

“This is to make the compelling case for industry operators to foster a compliance culture which alone guarantees safer and sustainable facilities,” he said. Ahmed said the authority’s regulations defined the licensing regimes, procedures, and standards for handling petroleum products, which when breached, lose increased risks.
