EXCLUSIVE: NationalFarmers' Federation Chief Executive tonymahar warns Australia’s horticultural industry is leaning on illegal labour in order to keep some businesses afloat.

Industry groups are unable to put an exact figure on the number of illegal workers currently in the field, but Mr Mahar believes its a concern which spans the length of the country. A new three-year report examining challenges in the industry has found cheap labour provided by illegal and undocumented workers continues to undermine the integrity of some corners of the business.
