The leading Lanarkshire attraction has a busy activity programme beginning on the Easter weekend

New Lanark world heritage site is getting set for Easter with a busy activity programme including egg rolling, a bonnet parade, market and a duck race at the Falls of Clyde.

Festivities begin on Saturday and Easter Sunday, March 30 and 31, with a scavenger hunt to discover 3D-printed eggs along its scenic walkways – and where the lucky finder of a golden egg will win a toy and chocolate egg from Lanark men’s shed.Get all the news from your area – as well as features, entertainment, sport and the latest on Lanarkshire’s recovery from the coronavirus pandemic – straight to your fingertips, 24/7.

Traditional egg rolling will take place at 3pm on both days of the Easter weekend, with visitors encouraged to bring hand-painted designs to roll down the main hill outside Robert Owen’s House. The following weekend will see New Lanark host its great duck race on Saturday, April 6 – where numbered ducks will be available to register for free at 12 noon before competitors take up their place for the drop at 1pm above the Falls of Clyde.
