Towa Corp.,Chip Molding Equipment,High-Bandwidth Memory

Towa Corp., based in Kyoto, controls two-thirds of the global chip molding equipment market, benefiting from the increasing demand for high-bandwidth memory driven by AI. The company's stock price has risen significantly due to the demand for high-performance chips.

One beneficiary of the booming AI-driven demand for high-bandwidth memory is a Kyoto-based company that controls a small but essential part of the chipmaking process.

This gives graphics processors, such as Nvidia Corp.’s, more capabilities to better train artificial intelligence . “Our customers say that they can’t make high-end chips, especially for generative AI, without our technology,” President Hirokazu Okada said in an interview. With full-scale production of high-bandwidth memory chips expected from next year, “we’re just getting started,” he said.
