An inner Sydney renter’s complaint about his high-profile landlord who issued him with an eviction notice has backfired. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says he has had “changes in my personal life” - notably his engagement to Jodie Haydon - and has decided to sell the Dulwich Hill investment property.

’s eviction notice Small business owner Jim Flanagan, 45, who has lived in the $2 million three-bedroom, two-storey townhouse for four years was given 90 days to vacate on May 8, noting the landlord “could be selling the house at some stage”. Although he accepts Albanese has been an exceptional landlord who dropped the rent during the COVID-19 pandemic to $680 a week - and kept it there - he says the eviction is unfair in the current market.
