Public school students across Nova Scotia will soon receive vouchers as an incentive to shop at local farmers markets this summer.
“Supporting local farmers and food producers is key to building food sovereignty and to our local economy and this needs to be reinforced with each generation,” Justin Cantafio, executive director of Farmers’ Markets of Nova Scotia, said in the release. The vouchers are part of the Nova Scotia Loyal program, a 2021 PC Party election campaign promise to provide incentives to shoppers to buy local.
