has granted a licence to Orashi Electricity Company Limited to generate, transmit, and distribute electricity supply in the state, ending reliance on Enugu Electricity Distribution Company.
“This marks a crucial step forward in our efforts to ensure constant and reliable electricity supply. “You are aware that the government of Imo State has since commenced the process of taking over the electricity market in the state. All of this started with the constitution amendment last year of the Electricity Act of 2023 which now gives the states the power to manage the power sector in the state, ” said Oguchienti.
“I can assure you that in the next one year, it will be a different story in the state because we are committed to have a changed narrative when it comes to power supply.”
