The drop in earnings for men is the biggest challenge facing the economy, according to Stephen Moore, the man President Donald Trump has said he wants to nominate to the Federal Reserve board.
“I want everybody’s wages to rise, of course. People are talking about women’s earnings. They’ve risen,” he added. Moore has not yet been officially nominated for Fed governor, a post that carries a 14-year term. White House officials have said they are continuing to vet his background, and it’s not clear whether he has the requisite votes in the Senate to be confirmed.

I make a nice income but I also haven’t seen much of an increase since 2003. I certainly don’t have the same buying power I used to. I now have to think about going on vacations and making big ticket purchases where I didn’t have to 15 years ago. The cost of living has caught up.

Good job explaining when this editorial was written. Nothing in either link clearly states that this was almost 20 years ago. I guess people are not untitled to a change of opinion, but keep up the outstanding reporting.

The biggest problem that I see with Trumps nominee is that real economists do not agree with him or consider him knowledgeable about economics; that he is a woman-hater who would keep his foot on women's throats, economically; that he is owned by Trump.
He actually has a point, but it's not the wages, so much as the workforce participation rate. That said, he's a joke.
