Agriculture and Agro-based Minister Datuk Salahuddin Ayub said his ministry, together with the Health Ministry, had done reviews of these companies.
He said they found that they met the regulations set by the General Administration of Customs of People’s Republic of China . “Out of the 14 companies, seven have been visited by the GACC, and they been appointed to export durians for the first phase that will be announced on Monday ,” Salahuddin said when met during Pulai Parliamentary Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house held here in Kempas on Saturday .
He added that this was a success for his ministry and the other relevant ministries as the decision to export the king of fruits was made within a short time span. Salahuddin added that there were still opportunities for the remaining seven companies not selected in the first phase to export durians to China.
