He said academics need to step up efforts to cooperate with those outside of the academic field so that they could fully understand the needs of the nation as it heads towards IR4.0. Dr Mahathir reminded students to leave their comfort zones and face challenges with confidence, independence, maturity and a critical mindset so that they can compete globally.
He congratulated the university for ranking first in Malaysia and 49th in the world in the inaugural Times Higher Education University Global Impact Rankings.
