Want to feel like an underachiever? Meet 10-year-old Cassidy Crowly, an inventor who wowed the judges on the Season 11 premiere ofthis past Sunday. The fifth-grader was there to pitch her safe baby spoon design, which eliminates the long, sharp design of a traditional spoon. The silicone product, called The Baby Toon, doubles as a teething ring.
Cassidy, who first invented the elephant-shaped spoon when she was seven years old for a local science fair, said she was thankful to be on the reality series"to show other kids that they can be open to opportunities they have at school or at home to create and invent." When asked if she'd quit elementary school to focus on her business, she looked at her mom and joked,"I can go straight to college."Her adorable-yet-focused presentation was hard to pass up, and she ended up securing a $50,000 deal with investor Lori Grenier.
