America's three largest drug distributors and a major manufacturer have reached a last-minute settlement with two counties in Ohio over the damage caused by opioids.
The almost $380 million deal meant the companies avoided the first ever federal trial over the prescription painkiller crisis. Prescription painkillers have been blamed for 400,000 deaths in the United States in the past two decades.
