THE US House of Representatives yesterday approved a bill to expose the owners of shell companies, to help curb money-laundering, bribery and other such crimes. The bill requires that people “who form corporations or limited liability companies in the US” report the names of the owners and anyone with a large financial stake in the firms “in order to prevent wrongdoers from exploiting ... for criminal gain”.
