Stocks have dropped the first two trading days of December and investors are worried markets are about to repeat last year, the worst December decline since the Great Depression.

CNBC used Kensho, a hedge fund analytics tool, to screen for the best places for investors to hide out when volatility jumps.

Alongside the suffering markets, the CBOE Volatility Index, a gauge for investor fear, jumped more than six points above the 17 level, after being stable and range bound for most of November.
