As of 9 am today, the Province of KwaZulu-Natal has welcomed over 33 New Year babies from healthcare facilities across the Province.
“This number will increase of course as the day progresses. The first New Years’ baby was born at Mosvold Hospital. The first twin arrived at 2 am weighing in at 2 kgs followed by the second one-two minutes later weighing 2.32 kgs” “This is my second child. It is my surprise baby because I was not expecting another child due to my age. When I found out that I was pregnant I was shocked but I accepted it. I am very happy about my New Years’ baby. I really wasn’t expecting her to arrive today… she was meant to arrive on the 5th. That is why I say she is my surprise baby.”Meanwhile, in the North West province, a total of 34 babies have been born since midnight in different hospitals.
