Polestar Is Quietly Making Big Gains In The Electric Vehicle Market | Carscoops carscoops

by some 15,000 units this year. That might have made things seem bleak but new sales data proves that the brand is on track to meet that new goal. In fact, it’s already sold almost as many cars this year as it did over all of 2021.

Over the first six months of 2022, Polestar has sold 21,200 cars. That’s more than double the 9,510 units that it shifted over the same period last year or, in other words, a near-125 percent increase. Throughout all of 2021, Polestar sold 29,000 vehicles. Now it seems the brand will easily eclipse that.

“It is great to see that the number of enthusiastic Polestar 2 customers is growing so quickly,” said Polestar CEO, Thomas Ingenlath, in a statement. “I am very confident that the strong momentum we have seen this year in brand awareness and sales figures will accelerate powerfully in the coming years as more ground-breaking cars are revealed.”
