Hundreds of shops have been razed by a fire outbreak at a popular Monday market in Maiduguri, Borno state.Some of the shops affected included those housing consumables such as tomatoes, boutiques, poultry products, and second-used clothes among others.

Fire service personnel were still making efforts to curtail its spread as of the time of this report.
