America's 1.8 million truck drivers can't work from home and often lack health insurance — and that may stymie the fight against coronavirus

— meaning they own their own truck and move loads on a freelance basis for various retailers and manufacturers.

"We travel all over the country hauling packages for Amazon and have been concerned with what we should do if it starts rapidly spreading across the nation," she told Business Insider. "Not only are we worried about possible virus transmission from going into the different facilities, but we're also always in and out of truck stops across the nation for fuel, food, showers, and more.

I would think their role is critical in keeping goods, supplies and food delivered to people who need them. But also their role is quite solitary with minimal contact with others, quite ideal in minimizing risk of contracting the virus.

But aren’t they basically isolated? It’s not like they drive in packs of 100! I can’t image their jobs are at risk?! And people need supplies.

If only somebody (AndrewYang) had any ideas to help and could have been President...
