Cruise lines have already extended their suspensions beyond an original 30-day pause. But the CDC just renewed an order that will likely keep ships from sailing for much longer.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention extended a no-sail order for cruise ships late Thursday in a directive that harshly criticized the industry’s handling of coronavirus outbreaks on multiple ships.

According to the order, Redfield “finds that cruise ship travel exacerbates the global spread of covid-19, and that the scope of this pandemic is inherently and necessarily a problem that is international and interstate in nature and has not been controlled sufficiently by the cruise ship industry or individual state or local health authorities.”

In a statement, the CDC pointed to at least 10 ships in recent weeks that had reported crew or passengers who tested positive for coronavirus or experienced symptoms; the order notes 15 ships either at anchor or in ports in the United States with known or suspected infection among remaining crew.

NO BAILOUTS!!!👹

The way this was written was the Cruise Industry would become floating Retirement Homes complete with destination schedule subject to change but more importantly a Lifestyle that some may desire as to luxury accommodations & full service amenities paid monthly or under long plan.

As of today the Governors of 8 Republican States are still treating the coronvirus as a hoax. Are they also going to blame the WHO and China for “not warning “ them when their citizens start dying? What a joke.

It's about time. There are a lot of stupid people. Thank you CDC

Perhaps the end of the cruise industry as we know it for years. Going to need to find something else to do with those ships for a long time
