In the quest for a vaccine, the US is making a 'big bet' on a company with unproven technology. Moderna has never brought a product to market, or had any of its vaccine candidates approved by the FDA. But right now, there is a lot of hope resting on it

One by one, vaccine developers at a White House roundtable convened by President Donald Trump in early March pitched their product as a viable solution to the coronavirus that was spreading globally and killing Americans. John Shiver, the head of R&D for Sanofi Pasteur vaccines, said he could have a product ready for the clinic in a year -- perhaps a vaccine for the public in as"few as several years."Trump seemed uninterested."Right. OK.

Articles in the science press sometimes refer to the company as"mysterious" or"secretive.

MattLorenzo so we are screwed...

Blame the government for that. Moderna is a 10 year old company that has submitted several products to FDA for approval. The gov is painfully slow in allowing anything be brought to market.

This sounds like a rather stupid idea.

Desperate times

This is like depending on the student that was absent all year to get an A. Let us pray for this company .🤦🏾‍♀️🙏🏾
