President Donald Trump has repeatedly suggested coronavirus will magically "disappear" someday, but the numbers aren't on his side.

"I think we're going to be very good with the coronavirus. I think at some point that's going to sort of just disappear, I hope," Trump said during an interview with Fox Business on Wednesday. The US is approaching 130,000 confirmed deaths from the virus, and cases are rising at an exponential rate. "We're heading back in a very strong fashion, with a V. And I think we're going to be very good with the coronavirus. I think at some point that's going to sort of just disappear, I hope," Trump said during an interview with Fox Business on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the US is recording roughly 40,000 new COVID-19 cases per day, with the overall confirmed number of cases in the country nearing 2.7 million.
