Trump wants the Treasury to get a substantial cut of any TikTok acquisition. China's state media says that would be 'open robbery.'

President Trump said on Monday TikTok has a deadline of September 15 to sell its US business or it will be "out of business in the United States."He wasn't clear whether that cut should come from the purchasing company or ByteDance, TikTok's parent company.

"This is an open robbery. The world is watching and God is watching that how President Trump is turning the once great America into a rogue country," he wrote. Trump said of the call with Nadella on Monday: "I suggested that he can go ahead, he can try. We set a date — I set a date — of around September 15, at which point it [TikTok] is going to be out of business in the United States. But if somebody, whether it's Microsoft or somebody else, buys it, that'll be interesting."

How would this even work? You would think, the seller would kick up to the boss, not the buyer. Can any of you Mafia types on Twitter correct me, if I'm wrong?q

Why do visions of Trump speaking to the CEO of Microsoft appear to be that of a mob boss speaking to someone they're about to bleed?

That is what you will get when a businessman become a president instead of one climbing through the ranks of public servant.

Til tok is illegal. Up violations, acquired by spying.

Communist people.

What taxes are typically applicable for a multi billion dollar acquisition?

SAI Mafia says that is our tactic and we want a share.

I don’t know what precedence that sets. If we do it to them, they would do it to us.

spygate extortion

That’s how trump does his business. Corner then rob!

Rogue and robber!

And how much is Trump looking for as his own cut? After all, he was the one who blackmailed Tik Tok into selling. To a mobster that counts for alot.

He needs to worry about the economy and the unemployed. That should be his number one concern during this pandemic....... not TikTok....... unreal.

Sounds like a dangerous precedent that could later go on to affect American companies.

I agree with China, it's a shakedown. Trump threatened to kill TikTok, now that they will be spared he wants his protection money
