A US senator who grilled a Google exec at a hearing this week said he is 'not satisfied' with the company's answers and signaled support for federal antitrust action

It was a preview of what an antitrust lawsuit might hold, should one be brought against Google in the coming weeks.

"The hearing was mostly productive, but I was not satisfied with many of Google's answers which felt scripted and unresponsive," he wrote. But it may not have been enough to convince lawmakers, which put forward several arguments that are likely to form the basis of an antitrust case against Google. An earlier antitrust hearing in July, which featured Google CEO Sundar Pichai alongside the chiefs of Facebook, Amazon, and Apple, was historic for bringing all four executives together. While Pichai took a lot of heat that day, many of the questions diverted into topics of anti-conservative bias and Google's work in China.
